Wake Up You’re Rocking! music/lyrics by Joe Castro (©2018 mightyjoetunes) the other night I dozed off watchin’ television I slipped into a rock and roll nocturnal emission my hips started movin' to the primal drum beat pound and I howled like a dog harmonizing with that sound ‘cause when the sandman starts swinging there just ain’t no stoppin’ hey man hey man wake up man - you’re rockin! wasn’t quite sleepwalkin, more a musical possession like a marionette, no controlling my obsession started cutting up the rug, that dog house bass was thumping all the cats lost they their minds, the entire joint was jumping placed my ear to the stage I couldn’t help my eaves droppin’ hey man hey man wake up man - you’re rockin! fresh out of prison, Leroy danced with Peggy Sue Screaming Jay whispered to me “I put a spell on you...” met Billy Lee Riley and he went on and on about rock and rolling flying saucers down at Area 51 stopped to catch a breath, cast an eyeball across the floor saw Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and even’ Scotty Moore Gene and Eddie dropped by, Janis Martin as well she started singing Bang Bang, I feel under her spell Johnny Burnette’s all alone, in the corner shadow boxin’ hey man hey man wake up man - you’re rockin! the band kept rocking, the entire place was pumping an alarm started ringing, everybody took off running I awoke from my trance, my sheets drenched in sweat it was one of those dreams man you never forget now I can’t stop grooving when that alarm clocks tick-tockin’ hey man hey man wake up man - you’re rockin!

Easy Living music/lyrics by Joe Castro (©2018 mightyjoetunes) the road goes on so long as things keep changing with the passing of time - that’s the tragedy of aging bills and photographs are all that remain when you’ve got noting left to loose, then you’ve got nothing left to gain but this ain’t easy living you gotta stay strong to box with Father Time nothing easy about living staying out of the grave is always an uphill climb my knees are weak, and my hair’s been grayin’ the lines in my face are a map of the paths that I’ve taken it’s not the years, no, but the mileage I’m told the good might die young but, hell, only the strong grow old but this ain’t easy living you gotta stay strong to box with Father Time nothing easy about living staying out of the grave is always an uphill climb the past is an anchor that’ll tie you down just be sure you can pick that weight up when that storm blows back around but this ain’t easy living growing old is just a victimless crime nothing easy about living staying out of the grave is always an uphill climb

Everybody Tells Her That music/lyrics by Joe Castro (©2013 mightyjoetunes) packing tape can’t suffocate his voice from memories nor chase his ghost away from this room she never leaves but it’s not a home - it’s part museum and part shrine a roadblock is all he’s left behind and everybody tells her that, she’s gotta move on sun faded photographs from golden summer days boxes of letters from a devoted fiance recall a time when nothing could bring her to her knees and grief was only make believe and everybody tells her that, she’s gotta move on but in her prime she used to dance along the cracks of broken dreams so dangerous yet ever so serene objects of veneration honor all regrets from one night in Riverside, she swears she caused the wreck and like twin paper lanterns abandoned to the rain her eyes just never shine the same and everybody tells her that, she’s gotta move on

Don’t Forget About Me music/lyrics by Joe Castro (©2018 mightyjoetunes) don’t forget about me when the time comes to leave you know you don’t owe me anything at all one day you’ll see the measure of my loyalty when the good times aren’t too shameful to recall nothing left to hold you to the promises of those who flaunted you like a well worn accessory and it would be too naive, to think the good times would never cease without you, they’re just an empty luxury so when it’s time to go your way or there’s nothing left to say cause your body language already said it all don’t forget about me when the time comes to leave just bow and take your final curtain call I drizzled admiration at your every invitation my dedication’s been fatally sincere but if destiny pulls us on toward opposite horizons Please let me be your souvenir how tragic would it be if someday you mysteriously evaporated from my memory but please rest assured, you’ll be remembered as so much more then some everlasting acquaintance in custody all those days I let you win although my patience was paper thin and our nights were drenched in sweat and alcohol so don’t forget about me when the time comes to leave you know you don’t owe me anything at all
